Unlike Model 1, this system features an additional pair of center-fixed clamps. All components are constructed from steel, entirely eliminating the use of aluminum, while friction surfaces are hardened to 900 HV. The clamps are equipped with spherical nuts to compensate for screw misalignment when securing thin blades. A key maintenance advantage is that in the event of thread wear, only the nut and screw require replacement, rather than the entire expensive clamp assembly. All parts are finished with a high-durability polymer coating, identical to that used on automotive wheels. The system includes a dedicated mechanism to adjust for wear in the rotary unit's seating surfaces. The guide rod is heat-treated to 60 HRC, utilizing a bearing-supported slide for maximum smoothness. Furthermore, the hinge offers extended rotation angles for the comfortable sharpening of long knives. The stone holder features a substrate that supports both blank-mounted and standard stones, while the three-point base design ensures rock-solid stability on any surface.
