Rotary mechanism

The MadEdge rotary unit features a mechanism with two symmetrical fixed positions for the clamping frame. Despite a powerful internal spring, the rotation remains exceptionally smooth and effortless; unlike designs from other manufacturers, there is no need to pull the mechanism toward the operator to disengage it. An integrated adjustment nut allows for fine-tuning the spring tension to customize the turning force. All high-friction components are crafted from surface-hardened steel to maximize service life and are finished with a durable automotive-grade polymer coating. The rotary frame measures 200 mm in length. The clamping jaws, made from heat-treated steel, feature an 8° bevel per side, enabling a minimum sharpening angle of 12° per side. To maintain precision when securing thin blades, the clamps utilize spherical nuts to compensate for screw misalignment. The center-to-center distance between the 15 mm wide jaws ranges from 57 mm to 168 mm, making it suitable for blades at least 80 mm long when using two clamps. For shorter blades, the system supports single-clamp fixing or the use of an optional clamp spacer (fork) that rigidly secures the jaws even in close proximity. The entire unit is mounted via a standard M8 threaded hole.
